The Swad Sakhi self-help group in rural Lucknow had been making pickles and papad for local haats for years, earning barely enough to cover costs. At a Women Entrepreneurship awareness program, the Youth Adda team spotted their product quality and suggested something bigger: government procurement.

The center helped the group formalise as a producer entity, complete Udyam registration, standardise packaging with proper labels, and onboard onto the GeM portal during a registration drive.

Today Swad Sakhi supplies two government office canteens and fulfils festival gift-box orders. Monthly group income has tripled, and each of the eleven members now has her own bank account and a say in the profits.
